Inspiration and Celebration

An inquisitive and confident adolescent, Alice looks to various women in leadership roles in the Lewis Carroll's novels, (Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland, 1865 and Through the Looking Glass, 1871) searching for mentorship. Finding only irrational violence, silliness or cool aloofness, Alice looks up to the queens as she grasps for role models, but imagines a better path.

The glass ceiling commonly refers to the top level female leaders are allowed to rise.  The combination of these two ideas is poignant as women continue to look for mentorship as they strive for equality and dignity.
